INSTRUCTIONS TO OBTAIN COURT ORDER FOR REPLACEMENT CERTIFICATE OF TITLE

1. Fill out and sign the Verified Petition for Order to the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles to Issue a Replacement Certificate of Title.
2. Submit a completed State Form 39530 – Physical Inspections of a Vehicle or Watercraft and file the Form with your Petition.
3. Pay the filing fee to the Boone County Clerk or fill out request for waiver of the filing fee.

Once these forms are filed, the Court will review your Petition.  In some circumstances, the Court may require a hearing.  If so, you will be notified to appear in Boone Circuit Court for a brief hearing on the Petition.  If not, the Order will be signed and available for you to print.

In order to obtain a replacement certificate of title, you must still fill out an application and submit same to the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV).  There may be additional fees associated with the BMV application.
