The Center for Hope Partnership Approved by Boone County Commissioners & Council
BOONE COUNTY, Ind. (February 16, 2023) — The Boone County Commissioners and Boone County Council have approved a request for seed money for a partnership between Witham Health Services and Sylvia’s Place Child Advocacy Center. The Center for Hope program is a result of the partnership and will be housed at the Witham Hospital facilities in Whitestown. The program will provide services to help adult victims of sexual crimes.
“We have to be able to deliver these services with highly trained professionals in a private environment. As our county continues to grow, we need the full spectrum of services for our residents when they need it most,” said Commissioner Donnie Lawson.
Cari Ann Clanton, Witham Health Services Foundation Coordinator, and Kassie Frazier, Executive Director of Sylvia’s Place Advocacy Center, have teamed up to bring the Center for Hope program to Boone County.
The Center of Hope will provide a place for the collection of evidence, crisis intervention services, safety planning, medical care, and so much more.
“We are thrilled to receive funds to move this project forward. If we can offer a place for victims to go in close proximity to where they live, statistics show they are more likely to get help,” said Frazier.
The Center for Hope is tentatively planned to be ready to serve the community by the end of this year. Fundraising efforts are still underway to fulfill the funding for this project.
The Witham Health Services Foundation will kick off an official fundraising campaign for The Center for Hope at their annual gala this May.
