LEBANON, IN — Boone County Clerk Lisa Bruder traveled to Washington, D.C. last week to join a select group of Indiana County Clerks to explore strategies for increasing local voter turnout.

The meeting, held at Georgetown University, brought together 11 Indiana County Clerks who shared insights, challenges, and best practices for engaging voters and strengthening democratic participation at the local level. The group also had the opportunity to tour the Capitol and meet with federal officials to discuss the importance of civic engagement and election accessibility.

“This was an incredible opportunity to connect with fellow clerks who are passionate about empowering voters and improving the election process,” said Bruder. “We’re all facing similar challenges, and by working together, we can develop more effective solutions that work for our communities.”

The discussions focused on a range of topics including voter education, outreach and the use of technology to streamline the voting process. Bruder shared her ideas and emphasized Boone County’s commitment to transparency, accessibility and continuous improvement in election administration.
