Boone County Commissioners Looking Forward to Successful School Year

BOONE COUNTY, Ind. (August 10, 2022) — The Boone County Commissioners offered the following statement this week as students head back to the classroom across the county.

“We are entering another school year, which represents a time of transition for thousands of Boone County students. We wish all of our students a happy and successful start to their academic year. We are also grateful to our educators and administrators for their dedication to providing our students with a quality and robust education.

The Commissioners also recognize that school safety is a top priority for our community. We fully support and appreciate our school resource officers, and we will continue working with the Boone County Sheriff’s Office and other local law enforcement agencies to ensure our educational buildings are safe and secure. During this time, we also encourage the motoring public to be cautious around school buses, buildings, and near bus stops.

“Education is a critical component to advancing our community’s youth,” said Boone County Commissioner President Jeff Wolfe. “Boone County’s school districts serve as a role model for safe and responsible learning environments across the state and region.”

Additional updates regarding school safety measures will be forthcoming and posted on livinginboonecounty.com
