The Boone County Health Department is seeking an individual to provide leadership for the department. This individual will serve as Administrator for the Health Department and Director of Nursing & Vital Records. The Administrator will be responsible for adherence to the laws outlined in the Indiana Codes governing local health departments. He or she will also develop and enforce local ordinances that protect the health and welfare of Boone County.
The position will also oversee procedures for birth and death records, preparing and submitting grants and maintaining emergency public health readiness and response plans.
The position will serve as an advocate for drawing attention to public health matters and needed funding in multiple sectors.
Applicants should have an accredited college degree in nursing with 7-10 years of clinical and leadership experience and must possess a valid Indiana Nursing License. Prior experience with grant applications, a background with health-related state statutes and public health readiness and response plans are also a requirement.
Individuals should possess excellent oral and written communication skills and excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize variable workload. Ability to work with individuals from the public sector and groups in a professional manner.
