Boone County EMA

Be Prepared

Taking simple steps to prepare can potentially save you and your family.  It is important to:

  1. Identify which emergencies are most likely to happen where you live – Boone County is vulnerable to a variety of emergencies.  Heavy rain, flooding,
thunderstorms, straight line winds, tornadoes and winter storms are all examples of severe weather conditions that may occur.

  2. Make a Plan – Plan for emergencies at home, school, and work.  Make sure everyone knows the plan

  3. Build a Kit – Make sure you have an emergency kit with enough supplies for three days

  4. Stay Informed – Have multiple ways to get information before, during and after emergencies.
