At-Large Council Member
Elise is the President of the Council and was elected as a member in 2016. She also serves on the Council’s Budget Committee to provide planning for a fiscally responsible budget process. In addition, Elise serves as:
As an entrepreneur, Elise acquires and manages a portfolio of residential real estate, and as a wife and mother, she and her husband, Chris, are raising four children and fully embracing this time of schooling, soccer, and family life.
Elise was also a founding faculty member of the Hoosier Leadership Series and directed education and tax policy for the program. This organization was established in 2006 by then Congressmen Mike Pence, Dan Burton, and Steve Buyer to study “best practices” in public policy and further equip principled leaders in the founding ideals of America.
Prior to that, Elise was recruited to join the Economic Development Policy Team of then gubernatorial candidate, Mitch Daniels, and made recommendations that facilitated the transformation of the Indiana Department of Commerce into the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. Her contributions included policies that established stronger executive branch oversight, reformed board responsibilities, and revised hiring practices.
In addition, as the Manager of Business Attraction for the Indiana Department of Commerce, Elise promoted Indiana’s strategic advantages of unmatched infrastructure, low taxes, and a highly skilled workforce. She directed a team of successful project managers resulting in thousands of new jobs and billions in capital investment coming to the state. Her individual projects alone totaled over 9,000 new jobs and $2 billion in investment. Elise was also responsible for analyzing economic development legislation for the Governor’s Office.
Bringing her public sector experience to the classroom, Elise was an adjunct faculty member of Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs, from where she holds her Master’s Degree.
Elise is also a member of the Indiana Economic Development Association, Boone County Farm Bureau, Boone County Chamber of Commerce, Zionsville Chamber of Commerce, Zionsville Fellowship, and a graduate of the Boone County Leadership Program.
