What we do

All activities described below, are conducted primarily in Boone County, Indiana

Mental Health Education / Intervention

  1. Drug and Alcohol advocacy (As needed)


  2. Referral and resource services (as follows)


     

    1. Therapeutic Service/Testing (by appointment)


    2. Behavior modification


    3. CBT


    4. PTSD Treatment


    5. Rehab location and facilitation


  3. Before- and After-School Enrichment (BASE); Child care daily 360 days per year


  4. Young Scholars Preparatory Pre-K


  5. “Helping Children Through Divorce” class – Monthly class by court order


  6. Best Foot Forward for Families – Co-Parenting education for divorce or intact families


  7. Parenting Coordination (Court Ordered conflict resolution program)


  8. Free Mental Health Screenings – Free as needed- Also offered in quarterly groups


  9. QPR – Suicide prevention


  10. Homeless relocation assistance – as called upon by law enforcement


  11. Active Listening- as needed


  12. Supervised Parenting Time as per court order


  13. Local and National Resource and referral center- Operational daily


  14. Domestic violence prevention and education, Emergency alternative housing and crisis line- 24/7


  15. Crisis intervention and stabilization – 24/7


School Curriculum

  1. Suicide Prevention Program – as called upon


  2. Crisis Intervention-Coping Skills – as called upon


  3. Drug Awareness- as called upon


  4. Every 15 minutes in conjunction with LHS and WEBO every 2 years


  5. IEP advocacy – as called upon


  6. Family/School liaison- as called upon

Mental Health America of Boone County: Providing mental health referrals and programs for over 60 years. MHABC also operates the following services:

  • BASE: Providing Before- and After-School Enrichment Care for over 30 years
  • Helping Hands Domestic Violence Shelter: Emergency shelter and services for DV victims and families since 2005
  • Parenting Coordination: Court-ordered high-conflict intervention for divorced families
  • Helping Children Cope with Divorce: Court-mandated curriculum for Boone County
