The mission of the Boone County Guardian Ad Litem/Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program is to ensure that the best interests of abused and neglected children are presented in court proceedings without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex or national origin as defined by Indiana Statutes.
- The Program will recruit and train volunteers to advocate for the best interest of children in; abuse and neglect cases, juvenile delinquency cases, divorce/custody, paternity, guardianship, adoption, termination of parental rights, and/or proceedings in which the Program is appointed by the Judge of the Circuit or Superior Courts of Boone County.
- The Director and volunteers will conduct their own fact-finding in order to recommend appropriate dispositions, facilitate and advocate to aid in ensuring a safe, stable, and nurturing family relationship and needed services. The GAL/CASA will monitor child(ren) for progress, needed services and the following of court orders by those overseeing and providing services to the family and the children.
- The Boone County GAL/CASA Program will strive to improve opportunities for the youth of Boone County by advocating and informing the community of needs of children and their families. The program will strive to increase the public awareness of legislative issues and the prevention of child abuse and neglect through educational and recreational avenues.
