What is the GAL/CASA Program

The Boone County Guardian Ad Litem/ Court Appointed Special Advocate (GAL/CASA) is a program of the Boone County Circuit Court. Volunteer advocates are appointed by the Judge to advocate for the best interest of abused and neglected children. The GAL/CASA helps the child understand what is happening, and make sure that they do not get overburdened by the on goings of their case.  The GAL/CASA investigates the details of the case and advocates for the child. The CASA stays with the case from the start until the case is closed and the child is in a safe and permanent home.
